Greg Schnirring
TreasurerPrior to retiring in October 2019, Greg Schnirring served for five years as Vice President, CSG and Station Initiatives at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in Washington, D.C. Schnirring was responsible for policy implementation of the Community Service Grant (CSG) program, CPB’s largest grant program. This included directing the operations of the Office of Grants Administration, which distributes over $300 million to public TV and Radio stations across the country. He also collaborated with management, staff, and system leaders on policy development for the TV CSG program. In addition, his portfolio included initiatives to help public TV stations provide strong public service to their communities through greater efficiencies, effectiveness, and collaboration achieved by entering into significant partnerships, or when right for the communities, mergers.
Previously, Schnirring served for 10 years as the CPB Vice President, Radio, where he worked with the Radio Program Fund, radio system investments, station relations, and the CPB Radio Department's administrative activities. Schnirring worked full-time in public media for 40 years serving also as the Director of Radio at both Wisconsin Public Radio and South Dakota Public Radio. He has served on the boards of the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, Public Radio in Mid-America, and on the executive committee of the Integrated Media Association.
Schnirring holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration from Morningside College in Sioux City, IA and an M.A. degree in Mass Communication from the University of South Dakota. Schnirring currently resides in Sac City, Iowa.
